Is mouth taping at night a legitimate anti-snoring method or is it just a popular internet trend without scientific backing?

Personally I would not try this. I have never heard of this method of curing snoring.
I think it could be dangerous. For example if you have sleep apnea it may stop you breathing if you try this.
Some people breath through their moths when they are asleep so it would be dangerous for them to.
